       ROGER FEDERER v FERNANDO GONZALEZ

7-5, 6-2, 7-6

Federer knew he was in for a battle against "Gonzo", the Chilean that goes for broke on every shot.

Usually not a viable strategy, but Gonzalez has been surprisingly consistent with his baseline attack game during this Wimbledon tournament.

Federer repeatedly ran down shots by the big-swinging Gonzalez and extended his grass-court winning streak to 34 matches.

Playing with his characteristic polish, he committed just 10 unforced errors, and his underrated retrieving skills were put to the test against the free swinging and powerful Chilean, Fernando Gonzalez.

Gonzalez tried to hit a drop volley late in the first set that allowed Federer to demonstrate his lightning quickness and agility as he was able to race it down and flick an amazing cross court winner.

Federer then continued to track down Gonzo's blistering forehands using an array of slice and topspin shots until Gonzalez eventually committed the errors.
