2005 NASDAQ-100 Open

Final

Federer v Henman

6-4, 6-3

Federer controlled the match from the baseline and fired several unstoppable forehands as Henman tried to take charge at the net. Henman has a winning record against Federer, but today when the British serve and volleyer tried to control the net, Roger made several tremendous passing shots.

Federer first gained a foothold in the match when he broke to move 3-2 up in the first set.

Henman battled back to force a break point in the eighth game but Federer responded to hold serve in emphatic style and then took the set comfortably.

Henman started the second set positively but again it was Federer who was the first to break.

After four routine service games, Federer forced three break points in the fifth. Henman clawed the first two back but Federer was not to be denied and took the third of them to take complete control of the match.
