2006 AUSTRALIAN OPEN
DAVID NALBANDIAN v MARCOS BAGHDATIS
3-6 5-7 6-3 6-4 6-4
Marcos Baghdatis rallied from two sets down to beat fourth-seeded David Nalbandian and advance to the Australian Open tennis final. Baghdatis continued to play superb tennis and was able to match the Argentine's powerful groundstrokes. Although Nalbandian tried to wear out his opponent, the Cypriot seemed to gain energy from the crowd. Baghdatis overcame exhaustion, sprained ankles, rain delays, and even had a match point called back by a mistaken chair umpire!!! But Marcos kept his cool and earned a ticket to the finals in what must feel like a dream. Amazing tennis!
