2007 US OPEN
DAVID FERRER v RAFAEL NADAL
David Ferrer out hustled, out hit, and out played his friend and fellow Spaniard, #2 Rafael Nadal in a late night battle under the lights at Flushing Meadows.
The match was an even battle to start, with both players running down shots from corner to corner and showing tremendous fitness to run down drop shots and lobs.
Nadal used his experience and poise to take the 1st tiebreak, which would have disheartened most players. But Ferrer came out with the same energy and continued
to run and actually seemed to hit harder as the match went on. Soon it was Nadal that looked like he was tired, and possibly injured. But like a true warrior, Nadal
fought until the end and made Ferrer earn the win by fighting off a match point. An amazing athletic performance by the two Spanish players.
