ROGER FEDERER   v    MARDY FISH

6-3, 6-2

Mardy Fish stunned Roger Federer to reach the finals of the Pacific Life Open.  Roger Federer has had a poor beginning to the year, by his high standards.

He has been ill in Australia and diagnosed with mononucleosis since then.  But after taking time to recover, he has played well in Indian Wells with some impressive wins.

Mardy Fish seemingly came out of nowhere to notch the most impressive win of his career with a thorough dismantling of the world #1 player.

Federer looked out of sorts from the beginning and  Fish put a lot of pressure on him by taking every ball early and going for a winner.

More often than not, the balls Mardy hit would scream over the net and off a line for a winner.

This match might be the scariest for Federer fans that are having a hard time explaining these losses that used to be easy wins for the great champion.

Either he will turn his season around soon and make everyone forget about these early defeats, or the invincible Federer aura really has been shattered.
